About Domino Battle
Dominoes with the two standard rulesets and very little else around them. Draw and Block differ only in what happens when you cannot go, which sounds minor and changes the strategy completely. The publisher offers both and takes no view on which is better, which is the right call.
How to play
- Choose between the Draw and Block rulesets before starting.
- Play tiles that match an open end of the layout.
- Under Draw you take from the boneyard when you cannot go; under Block the turn simply passes.
- A hand ends when somebody plays out or nobody can move at all.
Tips
- Count the suits that have already been laid rather than watching only your own hand. Dominoes is an information game and most casual players throw that information away.
- Under Block, keep a playable tile in reserve for each open end. Being unable to move costs far more there than it does under Draw.
