About Water Sort Puzzle
The water sort puzzle in its plainest form: coloured layers spread across too many glasses, and one legal move — pour onto the matching colour, or into space. No timer and nothing to react to, just a board that is either still solvable from here or quietly is not.
How to play
- Pour water from one glass into another to gather each colour together.
- A pour is only legal onto liquid of the same colour, and only when the receiving glass has room.
- An empty glass will accept anything, which makes it the most valuable thing on the board.
- The puzzle is solved when every glass holds a single colour.
Tips
- Never fill your last empty glass unless doing so completes a colour. An empty glass is the only unconditional move available to you.
- Pour the shorter stack onto the taller matching one rather than the reverse. Emptying a glass outright is worth more than tidying two.
