About Towerland

A top-down shooter that names Binding of Isaac as its model and inherits the important part of it: movement and fire sit on separate hands, so you can retreat in one direction while shooting in another. Three modes, three bosses, dozens of monsters, and power-ups unlocked as you go.

How to play

• Move with the WASD cluster and fire with the arrow keys, aiming independently of where you are travelling.
• A gamepad covers the same split across its two sticks or the face buttons.
• Dozens of monster types appear across three game modes.
• Three bosses serve as the set-piece fights.
• Power-ups are unlocked as you play, and the P key pauses.

Tips

• Do not fire in the direction you are travelling unless you are chasing something down. The split scheme exists so you can back away while shooting, and that is where the survivability is.
• Circle a boss rather than trading hits with it. Room-based shooters give you the whole floor, and standing still on it is the most common way a run ends.
