About Crazy Little Eights
Crazy Eights, the shedding game most modern cards-in-hand games descend from. Match the pile by rank or suit, play an eight whenever you like, then name the suit that follows. A small rule set, and the vendor spells out the variant it uses, which is more than most manage.
How to play
- Play a card matching the top of the pile by rank or by suit.
- An eight can be played at any time, and lets you name the suit to follow.
- Several cards of the same rank can be played together in one turn.
- If the starting card is an eight, any card may follow it.
- Emptying your hand first wins.
Tips
- Eights are your escape from a suit you cannot follow. Spending one early leaves you drawing later.
- Playing several cards of a rank at once clears your hand quickly but hands the suit choice straight to the next player. Weigh the tempo against the control.
