About Aster Supreme

A top-down dungeon crawler in the Zelda mould with a trap-laying system bolted on. Three weapons, one of them a boomerang whose flight path you draw yourself, plus four traps the publisher says are meant to combine. Ten enemy types and two boss fights lead to Leviathan, the demon god you are there to kill.

How to play

  • Move around top-down dungeons, fighting the ten enemy types and crossing some platforming between fights.
  • Your main attack is on the left mouse button; the right button sends the boomerang at the nearest enemy.
  • The E key places traps, and the Q menu swaps weapons and traps without leaving the fight.
  • Space jumps over obstacles and enemy attacks, and left shift rolls.
  • Two boss fights lead to Leviathan, who appears in more than one incarnation.

Tips

  • The quick-select menu exists because the game expects mid-fight swaps. Treat weapon choice as a per-enemy decision, not a per-room one.
  • Lay traps before you pull a group rather than during the fight. Four trap types described as synergising implies combinations that need setting up in advance.
  • The boomerang picks the nearest enemy for you, which makes it a positioning tool. What you are standing next to decides what it hits.
